Floy Mikell Busby grew up in Tallahassee, Florida.  She received a B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1979 and a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 1986.  Floy was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1987.  She formerly practiced in the area of employment law and insurance defense, specializing in civil rights, employment discrimination and local government defense.  She previously worked for the Florida Commission on Ethics and the former Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services.  Currently, she practices in the area of workers' compensation insurance defense.
